Apple Music subscribers can now stream over 90 million ad-free tracks directly to their LG TVs running webOS 4.0 or higher.
More than a year after Apple Music made its TV debut on Samsung’s Tizen operating system, the music streaming service is now available on LG smart TVs. Simply head to the LG Content Store on any TV running webOS 4.0 or higher. The operating system launched in 2018, should therefore be on most modern televisions. It’s great to see Apple expanding its services for more operating systems. It would have been unusual just a few years ago that would tie users to Apple TV.
Subscribers can log into their account and will see a familiar interface with all of their existing music library. New users can sign up for a three month free trial or subscribe for $ 4.99 per month for a Student plan, $ 9.99 per month for a Individual plan or $ 14.99 per month for one Family plan. Note, Apple Music’s upcoming $ 4.99 Voice plan is not supported on the TV.
Apple Music gives TV users access to over 90 million ad-free songs, 30,000 curated and personalized playlists, artist-hosted live radio, 4K music videos, and lyrics synchronized in time. Mobile users also have access to offline support, spatial audio, and lossless audio on compatible devices.
