Colts Win Best Music Video at 2022 BandLab NME Awards for “Wake Me Up”

The Foals’ “Wake Me Up” won Best Music Video at the 2022 BandLab NME Awards tonight (March 2).

“Wake Me Up” beat music videos for Billie Eilish (“Happier Than Ever”), Lil Nas X (“Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”), Taylor Swift (“All Too Well – The Short Film”) and Wet Leg (‘Chaise Longue’) for the win.

“We just want to say thank you so much to this guy Dave East who led it, everyone who danced there and everyone who loves our band,” Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis said from the podium while receiving the award.

“Thank you very much,” he added. “We carry on, we carry on.”

‘Wake Me Up’ was the lead single from British rock band ‘Life Is Yours’ seventh studio album, which will be their first as a trio and is due out on June 17. The song was followed by single ‘2am’ in February 2022.

The 2022 BandLab NME Awards mark the show’s return to the O2 Academy Brixton after a year off due to the pandemic. The ongoing ceremony, which is co-hosted by Daisy May Cooper and Lady Leshurr on the right, has seen performances from Sam Fender, Griff and Sigrid. During this time, Bring Me The Horizon will close the show.
