Singer Harry Styles recalled his two headlining performances at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival during a ‘Today Show’ interview on Thursday, even though things didn’t go to plan in the desert .
In April, the Grammy Award-winning singer performed at the Empire Polo Club in front of thousands of cheering fans and welcomed country legend Shania Twain and hip-hop superstar Lizzo to the stage.
Speaking to “Today” hosts Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie and Carson Daly, Styles, dressed in a neon green, brown and black jumpsuit, gushed about his time with Twain. The two performed his 1997 hit “Man! I Feel Like A Woman” and “You’re Still the One”.
“Everything else in those times, like the numbers and all that stuff that comes with the music industry, all of that disappears in times like that,” the 28-year-old singer said. “I’d like to say it was for the crowd, but that’s just for me.”
Even though both of his weekend sets were electric, the singer had a bit of a fashion problem when his gold lion ring slipped off. On Thursday, he said a few fans contacted whoever found the ring and he managed to get it back.
He celebrated his comeback on Wednesday by posting a photo of the ring to his Instagram story with the captions, “She came back” and “Thank you.”
Styles’ third studio album, “Harry’s House,” was released on Friday. The “As It Was” singer said of the album, “It’s the most free music I’ve ever felt making music, it’s the proudest of everything I have. fact.”
The 13-track album is the “most diverse” of his previous work, he said, and a collection of all his favorite things.
So far, the single “As It Was” is the only song available for download ahead of the album’s release, and he performed it for the first time live at Coachella. He also debuted “Boyfriends” and “Late Night Talking” at the music festival.
Asked about “Boyfriends,” a slowed-down, acoustic song, Styles said he wrote it around the time he finished recording his last album, “Fine Line,” released in 2019.
“We could have rushed to make it, and I felt like there was something special about it and I wanted to take my time with it,” he said of ‘Boyfriends’. .
In addition to her successful music career, Styles is increasingly delving into the world of acting. Fans can see him in the upcoming thriller “Don’t Worry Darling,” directed by Olivia Wilde and also starring Florence Pugh. The two play husband and wife and live in a 1950s utopia, but Pugh’s character soon begins to question everything around him, including the top-secret project her husband and other neighborhood men are on. working.
