Music, art and fashion take center stage at Desperados’ Collectives Playground

Art lovers flocked to Jewel Aedia, Lekki, Lagos to witness the display of creative energy through music, arts, fashion and dance.

The event which was tagged, ‘Desperados’ Collectives Playground’, also featured multidisciplinary artist, Mayowa Alabi, aka Shuta Bug’s work for the 2022 Desperados Design Collectives.

Hosted by Kemismallz and ilowitdflo, the program was a captivating mix of artsy and festive vibes as live graffiti ran across the walls and DJs serenaded the audience with great music.

The event is said to be an initiative by Desperados – a tequila-flavored Heineken beer – to give a platform to new, dynamic artists.

Revealing the campaign’s impact on his artistry, Shuta Bug said, “I’m thrilled. This is the first time this has happened to me. Most artists like their works to speak for themselves, but this is really huge for me, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to be here. I had the artistic freedom to play with the bottle. I was also able to collaborate with an incredible Ivorian-American fashion designer, Loza Maléombho. My work travels around the world as part of this campaign. Everything is surreal to me.
