New Hanukkah clip pays tribute to Detroit Jewish community

Generations of Hanukkah memorabilia from the Detroit Jewish community are featured in a new music video from Reboot and guitarist Jeremiah Lockwood.

The track “Ritual” from “A Great Miracle: Jeremiah Lockwood’s Guitar Soli Chanukah Record” is the backdrop for the clip, which Reboot CEO David Katznelson calls “a love letter to the Jewish community in Detroit.”

Video includes photos courtesy of Jewish Senior Life, Leonard N. Simons Jewish Community Archives, Rabbi Leo M. Franklin Archives of Temple Beth EL, the Jewish Federation of Metro Detroit, and the Congregation Shaarey Zedek.

Katznelson said: “Jeremiah’s meditations combined with the beautiful imagery touches on a warm sentimentality that is so needed after a few years of not being able to light candles together.”

Reboot is an arts and culture-focused non-profit organization that draws on a vast network of artists, entrepreneurs and activists to reinvent and strengthen Jewish thoughts and traditions. The organization is based in New York and has operations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Detroit as well as in Great Britain.

“A Great Miracle” includes eight songs – one for each Hanukkah night – which are performed as meditative solo guitar pieces. A digital download of the album can be purchased at Restart the Bandcamp page, and the music can be broadcast on Spotify. For more information on the video, visit Reboot website.
